As of 2 Oct 2026, 22:00What does Nvidia do?
Nvidia, based in Santa Clara, California, designs graphics chips. They used to be mainly for video games; today they mainly go into data centers, where tools like ChatGPT are trained on Nvidia chips. Nvidia doesn’t make the chips itself but has them built, mostly by TSMC in Taiwan. It also supplies the software developers use to program them.
