AMD, based in Santa Clara, California, designs processors for PCs and servers, graphics cards and AI chips. It doesn’t make them itself; most are built by TSMC in Taiwan. AMD also designs the chips inside the PlayStation 5 and Xbox. In data centers it competes with Intel on server processors and with Nvidia on AI chips.
