As of 5 Oct 2026, 17:35What does Continental do?
Continental is best known for tyres. It also owns ContiTech, which makes hoses, conveyor belts and seals for industry. Its former car electronics business was spun off as Aumovio in 2025. In July 2026 Continental agreed to sell ContiTech to the investment firm Lone Star. After that, a pure tyre company remains.
Many cars in Germany run on Continental tyres, which you often see when tyres are changed in spring and autumn.
