Bull market (Bullenmarkt)

A longer period in which stock market prices mostly rise.

A bull market is when prices rise significantly over months or years. The image: a bull thrusts its horns upwards. That's why bronze statues of a bull and a bear stand in front of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Bull markets usually come with optimism, a growing economy and healthy company profits.

Example: after the Covid crash in March 2020, the DAX closed at a new record high by the end of December 2020. Important: nobody knows in advance how long a bull market will last. Rising prices are no guarantee of further rises.
