What does Airbus do?
Airbus builds passenger jets such as the A320 and A350, as well as helicopters, military aircraft and satellites. It grew out of a partnership between Germany, France, Spain and the UK, and has major plants in Toulouse and Hamburg. Today Airbus delivers more commercial aircraft than its US rival Boeing.
Where you know it from
On your holiday flight: Lufthansa, Eurowings and Condor fly many Airbus jets, some of them built in Hamburg.

Strengths
Its order book is full for years: more than 8,700 aircraft were on order at the end of 2025.
There are essentially only two big players in the world for large passenger jets.
Rising defence budgets in Europe support the defence and helicopter business.
Risks
Missing engines and parts from suppliers keep slowing down production.
Much of its revenue is in US dollars, so a weak dollar hurts profits.
Technical issues or recalls on aircraft can be costly and damage trust.
